When is the right time for my child to do

orthodontic treatment?

Parents will be worried if their child’s teeth are

not aligned.

For the purpose of orthodontic treatment,

it improves the function of the teeth and makes

it beautiful esthetically by arranging the teeth

properly so that it guides facial and jaw to

grow in the right shape.

It is good for the child to start orthodontic

treatment at a time when the baby teeth are

missing and the permanent teeth

begin to develop.

If your child starts orthodontic treatment at

this time of growth, it will be able to induce

proper growth of the jawbone and have a

straight set of teeth.

The period of orthodontic treatment of children

in the growing period is classified into two

categories: [Mixed Dentition] with

permanent teeth, and [permanent dentition]

with permanent teeth.

If there is a problem in the development of

jawbone(when the lower jaw is large and

forward / when the upper jaw is small and

lantern jaw), it is necessary to start

the treatment in the period of mixed dentition.

Also, if the upper jaw protrudes forward and

for the short chin, should start the orthodontic

treatment early at this time.

The more disproportionate the jawbone is,

the better it is to start treatment sooner.

In the period of growing growth,

it is necessary to control the growth of

the jawbone to reduce incongruity or to

change the growth direction.

If you miss this period,

skeletal problems can get worse.

Sucking your fingers, tongue sticking out,

breathing with mouth open or biting nails is

a bad habit. If these oral habits persist,

problems such as the teeth and jaws may

develop, and such habits must be quickly

corrected to prevent the occurrence and

deterioration of malocclusion.

If your child can not fix it themselves,

you can fix it with braces. Also,

if they lose baby teeth too early and the space

cannot be maintained, there will be a problem

that the space for the permanent teeth will

disappear. Orthodontic treatment can be used to

maintain the tooth space so that

the permanent teeth can come out properly.

Orthodontic treatment can be used to correct

tooth alignment even when the permanent

teeth are not removed in an abnormal direction
