Dr. Hyunki Roh of S-PLANT Dental Hospital

participates as the recipient of the CAD/CAM

& Digital Dentistry Conference in Dubai.

His lecture is divided into two parts and

is as follows.

·         Lecture 1: Making Virtual Patient for Digital Dentistry

From the long history of successful

dental implant treatment era, we know that

classic operational and prosthetic procedure

can provide treatment outcome of safe and

durable result but for a less possibility of

risks, using of provisional removable

prosthesis in an edentulous state for healing

period is unavoidable.

However in the modern era,

waiting time can be shortened up to

immediate loading with careful meticulous

planning and preparation such as making

a virtual patient in the computer and with

intra oral scan or model scan data,

3 dimensional facial photo, used old prosthesis

and planning prosthesis data files could be

arrange to the backbone of patient CT file

and through these alignment, it is possible

to make more valuable planning and result.

Surgical guide can duplicate the original

planning position of dental implant and

customized abutment and provisional prosthesis

might be designed before operation.

GBR process can be done simultaneously in

immediate loading case with delicate scheme.

In this presentation, it will be considered for

reproducible and satisfactory planning and

doing.

·         Lecture 2: Clinical Use of Surgical Guide

In daily treatment procedure,

implant restoration of lower 1st molar is a

simple process with lower concentration

level. But after delivery of final restoration,

some drawback of treatment results

could be found, and this handicap could not

be reverted easily. Furthermore in multiple

complicated implants case, best treatment

result could not be guaranteed by intuitive

approach by simple manual process.

Nowadays in updated dental field,

3-dimensional CBCT is a routine process for

treatment planning instead of 2-dimensional

pantomograph. Technology with CBCT can

provide more realistic environment via data

merging with intraoral scan and model scan file.

These data complex can make more precise

treatment planning

Tangible works like surgical guide,

customized abutment and provisional

restoration could be made by meticulous

handling of input data.

The goal of this process is a reproduction

of planning data to the treatment results

in patient.

Final prosthesis must be planned and

designed according to initial guidance

environment.

These treatment planning and doing guarantee

the best treatment results by adequate data

conversion between digital and analogue

process through CAD/CAM technology.

Through this presentation, several clinical

cases will be presented in the theme of

CAD/CAM process.
