Why should adults get braces?

Orthodontic treatment is usually thought

to be done in infancy and adolescence,

however 40’s -60’s adults also require

orthodontic treatment. As people get

older, oral health problems and chewing

difficulty increase, therefore orthodontic

treatment might be accompanied with

periodontal disease and prosthodontic

treatment.

Orthodontic treatment needs not only a

long time but also noticeable braces so that

middle-aged people having a social life

hesitate.

However, there are recently many adults

considering orthodontic treatment to

improve oral health and their appearance

due to aesthetic and functional development

of orthodontic appliances

Teeth might be slowly shifting and moving

with aging and oral condition might

become worse due to poor dental care.

Orthodontic treatment helps make the teeth

straightened and improve teeth function.

Clear aligners and lingual braces have

become very popular among middle-aged

people in terms of aesthetic aspects.

Invisalign clear aligners that are made of

almost invisible polyurethane plastic

enable comfortable dental care because

it is a removable appliance unlike

conventional metal braces.

Incognito orthodontic braces known as

lingual orthodontics are made from real gold,

custom made to the anatomical variations

of the teeth and placed behind of the teeth,

overall it reduces discomfort making contact

with the tongue.

There are many types of orthodontic

appliances, therefore it is important to have

adequate consultation with a specialized

dentist to get a suitable option.
